Publication on the design and measurement of C-band single chip front end integrated circuit

A paper on the design and measurement of a C-band single-chip front end integrated circuit including a HPA, a transmit/receive switch, a LNA and a calibration coupler has been published in the April 2017 IEEE Transactions MTT. This robust product was processed on the UMS 0.25µm AlGaN/GaN-on-SiC MMIC technology (GH25-10).

Reduced size and weight were obtained thanks to the inclusion of a transmit-receive switch on the MMIC.

This project, led by TNO, was supported by ESA for single aperture radar applications in space. Airbus, as an end-user defined the multifunction requirements. TNO and UMS co-designed the multifunction MMIC with UMS carrying out the complete characterization of the MMIC in a test-jig.
